Cars in Germany's Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities stated they were alerted by a individual who found a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Officers say they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they added.

Officers then found numerous other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; officials are presently not aware of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they added.

City officials said they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the community for details.

A high-ranking official stated the incident left him stunned and required to be addressed quickly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing attack five years ago," he posted on a platform, mentioning the death of nine people by a assailant aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
