I'll stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
